Cataract Surgery Specialist
During an eye examination we will diagnose any cataract development. Currently there is no proven method to prevent cataracts forming, however, we can monitor cataract development and prescribe glasses or contact lenses to maintain good vision. If the cataract develops to the point that it affects your daily life we may recommend surgery to remove the natural lens and replace it with a new synthetic lens.

Glaucoma
Comprehensive vision assessment and eye health examination will include a test to measure the pressure in your eyes, an examination of your optic nerves and retinas; and computerized analysis of your visual field and eye structures.

For qualified patients we participate in a program called “Eye Care America” where we offer reduced cost initial glaucoma exams.

Diabetic Eye Evaluations
Adult diabetics should schedule a first exam within one year of diagnosis and annually thereafter. Children should be examined within 5 years of diagnosis and annually thereafter. Diabetics can lose vision due to changes in the retina and retinal blood vessels, called "diabetic retinopathy", which leads to swelling and bleeding of the retina with loss of vision. Regular exams and early treatment can prevent vision loss.

External Eye Disease
Eyelid changes and diseases of the surface of the eye are diagnosed as part of a complete exam. Medical treatment is often adequate, and Dr. Stock can perform surgical procedures for many eyelid conditions.

Pediatric Eye Care
Pediatric examinations are performed to evaluate vision, eye alignment and developmental eye diseases. Glasses and treatment for lazy and wandering eyes, tearing, and eyelid conditions are available.

Contact Lenses
We offer examinations, fittings, and prescriptions for soft and gas permeable contact lenses. Dr. Stock also treats contact lens related eye disease.

Eye Exam

Eye Examinations
A comprehensive eye examination includes an eye and medical history, evaluation of the visual system, examination of the health of the eye, dilation of the pupils, glaucoma testing and diagnosis and treatment to meet the patients’ needs.

We also provide initial treatment of any medical problems including conjunctivitis, dry eye, foreign body removal, iritis and age related macular degeneration.

Urgent Care
Patients can be seen on a same day or next day basis for red eye, vision changes, eye injuries, allergies and macular degeneration.

Eye Care America
"Eye Care America" is a program sponsored by the American Academy of Ophthalmology which provides eye examinations at little or no cost to qualified patients.

Please bring the following to your appointment:

Bring all medications, including all eye drops (even non-prescription medications), and a list of allergies to your first appointment. Also bring information regarding your primary and secondary insurance and any vision insurance you have.

A complete examination usually takes one and a half hours, sometimes more, and temporarily blurs vision. Some patients are more comfortable having someone else give them a ride home.
